- age of the au pair: min. 18 years
- working hours: 30 hours per week (child care and light housework, including babysitting) – higher hours are also possible
- day off: at least 2 days per week (1 full weekend off per month)
- pocket money: min. 90 GBP per week – for higher hours families pay higher amount of pocket money
- contribution to language school costs. min. 20 GBP per month
- paid holidays: 4 weeks during 12 months
- board and lodging is ensured by the family (in case of illness, day offs and holidays as well)
